I am keeping (If I get one:) a Spotted Moorit Ewe lamb out of Pumpkin and a Ewe lamb out of Elena. Over the last four breeding seasons Elena has given me twin ram lambs so I don't have any girls from her yet and won't be able to part with any born this year. If you are interested in any of the lambs from the above sire's - please contact me preferably by phone at: (207) 726-4765. I can then provide you information on the breeding behind my ewes. We are breeding here for Health, fine fleeces, great temperaments, ease of lambing and milkiness. Here are some photo's of our beautiful ewes and the results of our breeding program over the last four years:

Please note . . . . . if there is no registration number behind a ewe name . . . . Registrations are pending for many of my sheep. All of my sheep are the results of the original 8 sheep purchased from The Lavender Fleece in 2006. My original ram sire registration numbers were (LF112R) and (LF201S).

Olde Sow Farm:

A message from Olde Sow Farm~

Well as some of you know the time for Jess to have our 6th child is
approaching, and you know if it was up to her she would have the baby
even while she was milking if she had to, tough resiliant and a very
hard worker. I want Jess to take these last few moments before the
birth of the baby to relax and make this the best experience for her.
I also want to take advantage of school break to install the new
milking system in the barn. (Which will make her life and any
volunteers attempts easier) We are going to take this next week off
from milk /yogurt orders as a result, and the following week if need
be. We still welcome any sausage orders as I can take care of those
and get those orders dropped off as usual. I hope all the customers
understand the situation. We want to welcome this new life with the
least amount of stress as possible, and I want Jess to take it easy.
I hope you and the customers understand. I will be in touch by
Wednesday to update the status regarding next weeks available
products.
Thanks
Dante

Icelandic Sheep Breeding Stock for Sale 2011

Our lambs will be arriving in about two months and most of my ewes are beginning to show:)

After four years of establishing an outstanding flock of ewes and three wonderful rams . . .this year I have decided to start selling breeding stock. Photo's of my ewes with the rams that they were bred to will be posted over the next week or so. A non-refundable $100.00 deposit is required for all lambs born this year. Ewes are priced at $650.00 registered and $450 non-registered. My top ram lambs will also be sold this year . . . . $500.00 registered, $350.00 non-registered and $250.00 as a fiber whether.

Our flock has outstanding fleeces, excellent conformations, milkiness and wonderful temperaments. We have never lost one of our sheep to disease or parasites. Our sheep are NEVER fed grain. They are given a diet of pasture and the highest quality hay that is harvested near the shores of Cobscook Bay. In the fall, our sheep will eat all of our windfall apples from our heritage apple trees. Our mineral supplements are Kelp, Vitamin E and Selenium. We give a 2.5 gram copper bolus twice per year to our colored sheep and once after lambing to our white sheep.

I have some lambs already reserved for this year so please contact me if you are interested in adding our genetics to your established flock or are starting a flock of your own. All initial inquiries or questions must be made via a phone call ~ please no e-mails.

Thank you so much!!!
